The Glagolitic Collection has been selected as a finalist for the ZGDW Award 2026 in the Product Design category.

The project consists of original products for interior and exterior spaces inspired by Glagolitic script, one of the most important symbols of Croatian cultural heritage and identity. Through a contemporary design approach, the collection translates the visual character, geometry and meaning of individual Glagolitic letters into functional objects that combine aesthetics, symbolism and everyday use.

Rather than using the script as decoration or reproducing historical motifs literally, each piece develops its form from the structure and identity of the original Glagolitic sign. The collection brings together products of different functions and materials, united by an exploration of identity, belonging and heritage.

Designed for private and public spaces, the objects are intended for audiences both in Croatia and abroad. For the Croatian diaspora, they can serve as a connection to their homeland and roots, while for an international audience they offer an introduction to Croatian cultural heritage through contemporary design.

At the same time, the project explores broader questions of belonging, our relationship with our own roots, and the potential of design to preserve, reinterpret and transmit cultural heritage to future generations.

Selected works from the Glagolitic Collection will be presented as part of the ZGDW Award finalists’ exhibition during Zagreb Design Week 2026 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb.

Being selected as a finalist marks an important milestone in the ongoing development of the collection and its exploration of how cultural heritage can be transformed into a contemporary design language.
