KLUPΛ – A Tribute to Croatian Heritage
The KLUPΛ bench is more than a piece of furniture – it is a sculptural homage to Croatian culture, history, and identity.
This project aims to highlight the foundational importance of Croatian cultural heritage as a pillar of national identity, while inviting people to reflect on their own values. By translating cultural symbols into contemporary design, KLUPΛ presents Croatian heritage in a visually compelling way that resonates even with those unfamiliar with its historical roots.
The supporting structure of the bench is inspired by the form of the Glagolitic letter Ć, thoughtfully adapted for structural integrity and functionality. This symbolic design merges form and meaning, anchoring the bench in both tradition and modern craftsmanship.
On the front side, the first nine letters of the Glagolitic alphabet are engraved – together, they form a powerful message:
"I, who know the Glagolitic alphabet, know that it is honorable to live on earth!”
This ancient statement encapsulates the spiritual and philosophical depth of the Glagolitic tradition, making the bench not only functional, but profoundly meaningful.
Crafted from Croatian oak and concrete, KLUPΛ carries a strong domestic identity – robust, timeless, and rooted. Alternative versions are available in galvanized steel and various wood finishes, allowing for customization to suit different environments.
Each piece is made with care, merging design, symbolism, and sustainability into a singular expression of Croatian authenticity.
